As previously announced on May 10th, Microsoft officially made the latest Microsoft’s datacenters in Canada. Those two new datacenters located in Toronto and Montreal can offer major plus to the Canadian market. First, it is easier to overcome Canadian market data residency requirements, specially for health-care and government institutions that need to be compliant with data privacy regulations. Those new datacenters ensure high security, privacy and compliance standards like the existing Microsoft Datacenters in other regions. Furthermore, the brand-new datacenter can provide to new and existing customers backups and disaster recovery solutions hosted in Azure local failover sites.
Microsoft went ahead their original planning, as initially only Azure services were planned to be released in the Q2 and some months later Office 365. Right now, Azure Services as well as Office 365 (Exchange and SharePoint) were released on May 10th and Dynamics CRM Online availability is scheduled for Q3.
You can check the services that are being offered at this time in Azure at the Azure Regions Website: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/regions/#services. Keep in mind that those services will be continually improved and new features are coming.
